Dea'dra - Sorrow

I am Deadra and I am Sorrow. I am the 11th daughter of Lilith the Great Queen of the Earth and for that I am happy. My birth came when my mother’s truest love left forever and her tears covered me the moment I escaped the womb. I believe my mothers Sorrow lives in me, and at times it is overwhelming. Still it is who I am and I am content, hopeful. My mother says my gaze is steady and I believe that it is my strongest gift. I can look into your eyes and see all of your suffering and all of your pain – sometimes things that you yourself do not even know. I hold my gaze steady so that my tears do not spill for each person or spirit that I meet…and I never look my Mother in the eyes, it would be overwhelming. Long ago, when the Tarot was formed I was fashioned as the 9th card in the Celtic Cross – the greatest hope and the greatest fear…this is also true. I am eternally hopeful, and eternally fearful…I am Sorrow.
