Description
This is dedicated to AND a portrait of Katie, the Traditional Art Gallery Director.
Why did I call the piece In Peace? This was taken just a few days after her father passed. Today is the one year anniversary of my grandfather's passing and so it felt kind of appropriate.
The story is about the red pinstripes in her hair. Red is not worn to funerals in most cultures, and so Katie waited a few days before she got her stripes. Her face is so serene in the image that it looked like she was "In Peace".

*Please forgive the lines that show up softly on the left of the drawing. My scanner needs to be cleaned and calibrated. I will upload a fresher image as soon as I get that done.
